The Gambia
Servants of the Word School of Ministry in The Gambia seeks to train West African pastors and gospel-workers at a grass-roots level. SOW offers a one year full-time residential course, as well as part-time studies, focusing on discipleship and Scripture handling, equipping men and women for ministry in a context where there is zeal for Christ, but also a real need for faithful Bible preaching. Students also learn other skills such as sustainable farming to enable them to support rural church planting ministries. Their campus is shared with the wider church for training, seminars, and retreats, and access to the growing theological library.

We are happy to say two former students are overseas, church planting in Guinea Conakry and training others in Liberia, and a few former students have since joined the SOW teaching staff. Other alumni are involved with a variety of mission organisations and teaching ministries as well as Christian radio broadcasting and printing literature and resources.
